Pre requisites: Knowledge of basic concepts of basic High school science and basic mathematics

Course objectives: To provide practical knowledge about the basics of Physics instrumentation and calculations/measurements.

 

Course Outcomes
Understand Vernier caliper principle and calculate accurate measurement of lengths and volumes of various objects
 Understand Screw Gauge principle and calculate accurate measurement of thickness of various thin objects
Understand vectors and resultant of vectors and verify Parallelogram law of forces and Triangle law of forces
Understand the concept of viscosity and calculate Coefficient of viscosity of a liquid by capillary method
 Verify Boyle’s law employing Quill tube.

Course outcomes:

           ·          Understand the properties of convex lens and find the focal length and focal power of convex lens (Separate & Combination)
           ·          Determine the value of acceleration due to gravity using simple pendulum and verify with L-T2graph.
           ·          Determine the velocity of sound in air at room temperature and calculate velocity of sound at 00 C.
           ·          Determine the refractive index of a solid using travelling microscope.
           ·          Practice the mapping of magnetic lines of force-locating neutral points and calculate magnetic moment.

Prerequisite:

Knowledge of basic concepts of chemistry of secondary education.

 

Course Objectives:

 

To provide practical knowledge about the basics of preparation of chemical solutions and volumetric analysis of chemical compounds.

 

Course Outcomes:

 

On successful completion of the course, the student will have ability to attain CO:

           ·          Prepare the standard solution.
           ·          Estimate the amount of the HCl in the given sample of solutions
           ·          Estimate the amount of the NaOH in the given sample of solutions.
           ·          Estimate the amount of the H2SO4in the given sample of solutions.
           ·          Determine the hardness of water in the given sample.

Prerequisite:

Knowledge of basic concepts of Chemistry of Secondary Education.

 

Course Objectives:

To provide practical knowledge about the basics of volumetric analysis of chemical compounds.

 

Course Outcomes:

On successful completion of the course, the student will have ability to attain the following COs

           ·            ·          Estimate the amount of the mohr’s salt in the given solution
           ·          Determination of acidity of given water samples/solutions.
           ·          Determination of alkalinity of given water samples/solutions.
           ·          Determination of pH of given water samples/solutions.
           ·          Estimate the amount of the chlorides in the given solution.

Prerequisites:

This course requires the basic knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, and four language learning skills, viz. Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

Course Objectives:

This course is designed to impart communication skills and life skills to the students of diploma which will help them a great deal in personal and professional fronts.
