ANTI-RAGGING DAY

STANDARD OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE

  1. Motive:-  

Ragging is the practice of Mild or Extreme bullying of ‘New Comers’ or ‘Freshers’ in a Higher Education Environment by the Senior Students.

Ragging has ruined countless innocent lives and careers. In order to eradicate it, Honorable Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No-887 of 2009 passed the judgment wherein guidelines were issued for setting up a central crisis hotline and Anti ragging database. UGC or Indian Government has developed a portal with 24×7 toll free number 1800-180-5522 and Telangana SHE Team dial 100.

  1. Objective:-

To build discipline and brotherhood among the students.

To prohibit any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student, or indulging in rowdy or indisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance .

The main aim of the SHE Teams is to provide safety and Security to women who are at home and working in different professions that were hitherto male bastions. Women should be able to go out with confidence, dignity and with their self respect intact.

  7. Inviting Guest:-

Local Police officer is invited as guest to the college by the committee members.

  1. Plan Of Action:-

All the students of the college are assembled in the college ground. The Director, HODs and the invited Police officer address the students about the disciplinary actions to be followed by the students in the college to make the campus ragging free.

  1. Students feedback:-

The students are explained about the actions which are taken in the college to prevent ragging in the campus and feedback is extracted from the students regarding the suggestions to eradicate ragging.

  1. Complaint Box:-

The students are advised to use the complaint box which is arranged in the college campus. The complaint box is checked every week in the presence of the Chairman and the solutions are prepared for the problems if any in the complaint box.

  1. Event:-

Ratnapuri Institution Organizes parents meeting every year in august second/third week of every year.

  1. Objective:-

Parent teacher conference helps to communicate to parents the areas their student are excelling in and to give them specific ideas of how to improve upon their child’s performance in the college.

  6. Notification:-

The students are informed prior about the meeting and are asked to inform their parents regarding the meeting and its importance. A notification about the timings of meeting is displayed in the notice board .

  1. Registration:-

The details of the parents who attended the meeting such as their names, contact numbers, house addresses etc are to be noted. These details are used to share the academic status of the students with their parents.

  1. Feedback:-

The parents are asked to give the feedback to the department heads regarding the topics related to the course which were discussed with the faculty members. The parents can give suggestions to improve the overall development of the students.

  1. Action Plan:-

The department heads discuss the suggestions which were given by the parents and implement them in the academic development of the students.
