Course outcomes:

On completion of course the student should be able to

  • Identify and use the tools and equipment in Fitting Shop
  • Acquire skill in basic fitting operations

  • Identify and use the tools to perform operations in sheet metal shop

  • Calculate the hardness number of the given material
  • Conduct torsion test on solid shaft and hollow shaft
  • Analyze the micro structure of the metals and alloys

  • Calculate the friction factor of a given pipe
  • Calculate the brake power and efficiency of Pelton turbine
  • Calculate the brake power and efficiency of Kaplan turbine.

  • Importance and advantages of CAD. Set drawing area and draw geometric shapes and modify as per requirement
  • Add text with required font and size and also dimension by various methods
  • Generate isometric model and draw circle on three iso planes
  • Create 2D drawings with front, side view with all above features
  • Significance of Layers. Create and assign properties to layers and modify layers
  • Importance and advantages of blocks. Use of standard blocks and user defined blocks
  • Need of solid modeling and various methods of solid modeling with different surfaces
  • Create and modify 3D drawings
  • Create three-dimensional entities using different methods
  • Practice on primitives with 3d Basics
  • Apply edit tools on primitives
  • Apply the selection of material from library and create the part drawing with a given geometry using Solid Modeling software

Course outcomes:

On completion of course the student should be able to

  • Leaning the operation and safety precautions of lathe and performing certain lathe operations
  • Basic knowledge in operating welding equipment and performing some welding operations.
  • Basic knowledge in sand preparation for moulds and making the moulds ready for casting operation.
  • Safety precautions in operating the workshop equipment.

Course outcomes:

On completion of course the student should be able to

  • Familiarize with R&AC tools and basic operations on soft copper tube.
  • Identify and acquire knowledge on working of different parts of Refrigeration and Air conditioning systems.
  • Develop knowledge on refrigerants.
  • Calculate COP of R&AC system with given data and use P-H chart.
  • Experimentally determine COP of R&AC systems.

Acquire knowledge on working of air cooler, water cooler, domestic refrigerator, split air conditioner and window air conditioner

  • Importance of Morse Test on Multi-Cylinder IC Engine

  • Investigation of Pressure Vs Temperature relationship of Saturated steam

Course outcomes:

On completion of course the student should be able to

  • Identify the components of a pneumatic circuit and its applications.
  • Direct control of single acting cylinder and to know the functioning of the equipment.
  • Direct control of double acting cylinder and to know the functioning of the equipment.
  • Speed control of double acting cylinder and to know the functioning of the equipment.
  • Control the speed of double acting cylinder with OR and AND logics.
